Madison joined the Doerfler lab in September 2026 as a Senior Research Technologist. She earned a B.A. and M.S in Biology from Clark University in Massachusetts before working at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. During her years as a Research Technician II, she studied genetic drivers of hereditary dystonias. Having developed a passion in genetics and genomics, Madison has since relocated to Milwaukee to continue her research at Versiti Blood Research Institute.
In the Doerfler Lab, Madison uses genomic approaches to investigate the biology underlying genetic therapies for β-hemoglobinopathies, with a particular focus on sickle cell disease.
